Northeast SARE Outcome Statement

An outcome statement, like a mission statement, expresses a long-term vision of the results we are working to achieve. The Northeast SARE outcome statement is:

Agriculture in the Northeast will be diversified and profitable, providing healthful products to its customers; it will be conducted by farmers who manage resources wisely, who are satisfied with their lifestyles, and have a positive influence on their communities and the environment.

This outcome statement bears directly on what kinds of projects we fund, how we set priorities, and what kinds of grants are offered.

Nationwide mission

SARE's wider mission is to advance, to the whole of American agriculture, innovations that improve profitability, stewardship, and quality of life by investing in groundbreaking research and education.

Planning for Outcomes

fiddleheads

A project outcome is a prediction of measurable change close to the ground.

A project outcome is the result of good planning and project structure, or what we call milestones.

Project outcomes can be verified with surveys, follow-up, and other indicators that confirm a measurable change.
