New Jersey State Coordinator
Jack Rabin coordinates the NJ SARE program. He is the Associate Director of the NJ Agricultural Experiment Station and has worked for many years as a County Extension Agent at Rutgers. He oversees research at the NJ Agricultural Experiment Station and provides advice to growers and agricultural service providers on diverse topics related to farming sustainably on the urban fringe.
His particular areas of expertise include methods of managing problem wildlife like deer and Canada Geese on farms; improving NJ farmer viability through improved farm management tactics; improving record-keeping tools to reduce burdens of environmental compliance; new tools for precision management of farm resources; improving distribution and marketing opportunities for locally grown produce.
