Delaware State University and the University of Delaware collaborated with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in this joint professional development program that focused on promoting the adoption of season extension strategies on the DelMar peninsula. During 2011-2014, the project trained agricultural service providers and farmers in a comprehensive education program about season extension strategies that can help farmers increase profits, spread labor out over a longer time, deepen customer relationships, and meet the increasing demand for locally-grown foods.
