Cover crop innovations

cover crops

Increasing the use of cover crops by Pennsylvania farmers is the goal of the Pennsylvania state program education project. During the next three years (2011-2014) participants will learn about current research findings and innovations in the areas of new cover crop species and species mixtures, no-till cover crop termination methods, cover crop inter-seeding methods, and insect regulation with cover crops. With the comprehensive educational approach planned, service providers will become well-prepared to teach and advise farmers about choosing and managing cover crops suited to their farms.
