Grass fed all year long: Strategies for expanding winter production of local, grass-fed meat

Connecticut collaborates with the Massachusetts and Rhode Island state programs in this joint professional development project that aims to help the local livestock industry move closer to a sustainable meat production system in New England. Over the next three years (2011 to 2014), this tri-state project will focus on training efforts for agricultural service providers and farmers on increasing year-round grass fed livestock production, one of the challenges to an increased local meat supply identified in the first phase of the project.
