The 2011-2014 Vermont state program initiative focused on social sustainability and quality of life concerns of Vermont's farming community. Extension educators were the primary participants, and during the three years they participated in field-based trainings that included farmers and subject-matter experts as teachers.
The project achieved it's goal to increase farm service providers' understanding of social sustainability concerns and learn how to incorporate that insight into their work with farmers.
